CyberFlood DDoS and Spirent Network Emulator
I was showing the CyberFlood DDoS tool to a customer and decided to record a video. The CyberFlood DDoS tool sends a variety of DDoS attacks with the option of sending legitimate HTTP traffic at the same time. The DDoS mitigation tool needs to be able to handle the DDoS traffic but also allow the HTTP traffic at the same time.
In this video, I chose to send a DNS flood. I used the Spirent Network Emulator to to rate limit the DNS traffic while allowing the HTTP traffic. I also used the SNE to add latency in both directions to simulate a real path from the HTTP clients to the HTTP server.
